This document sets forth the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service governing your access to and use of Lazy Monkey mobile applications, desktop software, web-based management dashboards, application programming interfaces (APIs), and cloud synchronization services.
By registering a merchant account, logging into a cashier terminal, connecting hardware peripherals, or processing retail transactions through Lazy Monkey, you ("Merchant", "Cashier", or "User") agree to be legally bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must refrain from using the platform.

3 How We Use Collected Data
We utilize the collected information strictly for operational, security, and computational purposes related to store management:
- To process real-time Point of Sale checkouts, calculate atomic stock deductions, and print dynamic thermal sales receipts.
- To synchronize product catalog updates and inventory counts across multiple store registers and cloud database clusters.
- To authenticate cashiers, enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and maintain audit trails for register shifts.
- To calculate daily sales summaries, profit margins, top-selling product metrics, and financial reporting insights.
- To maintain system uptime, detect unauthorized access attempts, and provide customer support.
4 Data Ownership & Proprietary Rights
All commercial data, customer records, inventory listings, pricing structures, and financial reports generated by your business remain the exclusive intellectual property of the merchant. Lazy Monkey claims no ownership rights over your transactional or commercial dataset.
Lazy Monkey grants the merchant a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and utilize the platform during the active subscription period.
5 Security Architecture & Data Protection
Lazy Monkey implements multi-layered security safeguards to protect merchant databases against unauthorized disclosure, alteration, or destruction:
- Encryption in Transit & Rest: All web and mobile communications with Lazy Monkey cloud API endpoints are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3). Sensitive credentials and API tokens are hashed using enterprise cryptographic standards (bcrypt/HS256).
- Tenant Isolation: Merchant data is segmented using strict database tenant scoping identifiers, ensuring your store data cannot be accessed by unauthorized third parties or other store accounts.
- Automated Backups: System databases undergo continuous transactional logging and daily encrypted cloud backups to protect against hardware failures or data loss.
6 Hardware & Third-Party Integrations
Lazy Monkey interfaces with hardware peripherals (such as Bluetooth ESC/POS thermal receipt printers, USB barcode scanners, and cash drawers) and third-party utility APIs (such as SMS/Email gateways for digital receipt delivery). Lazy Monkey is not liable for hardware malfunctions, printer hardware firmware defects, or third-party network outages beyond our reasonable control.
7 Merchant Compliance & Acceptable Use
Merchants using Lazy Monkey agree to:
- Maintain the confidentiality of cashier passwords, PIN numbers, and terminal security keys.
- Comply with all applicable local tax laws, GST rules, and consumer protection regulations when issuing receipts.
- Refrain from using Lazy Monkey to process illicit, illegal, or prohibited merchandise.
- Ensure appropriate customer consent is obtained before sending commercial SMS or email promotional messages.
8 Data Retention & Export Rights
Merchants retain the right to export their product catalogs, customer databases, and sales reports in standard CSV or PDF formats at any time. Upon merchant account termination, stored transactional data is retained for 30 days to facilitate final data extraction before permanent deletion from active database nodes.
9 Mobile Device Permissions & Hardware Usage
The LazyMonkeyAI mobile application requests specific device permissions strictly to enable essential Point-of-Sale hardware functionality:
- Bluetooth & Nearby Devices (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH_SCAN): Required solely to discover, pair, and transmit receipt print data to wireless ESC/POS thermal printers.
- Camera Access (CAMERA): Used exclusively for real-time barcode scanning of product items during inventory management and cashier checkout.
- Location Access (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Mandatory under Android OS guidelines for Bluetooth LE hardware device discovery. Location coordinates are never recorded, tracked, or transmitted.
10 Children's Data Protection Policy
LazyMonkeyAI is a commercial Point-of-Sale retail application designed for business management by adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or process personal data from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete such data from our systems.
